Our Story

Phum Khmer Lodge (Khmer Village Lodge) is an enchanting getaway with a tropical landscape and a magnificent swimming-pool. Its 6 private villas are designed to resemble traditional tilted wooden cottages.

Mr. Chan Heng is the owner and primary architect of each home. He has a deep appreciation for classic Khmer architecture and has been saving wood from demolished homes whose owners prefer more modern designs (built from stone). He has visited every province in Cambodia in search of the perfect Khmer home, and to study the regional variations in Khmer design and construction. It took about 6 years and 28 recycled wooden homes to complete all 6 of these Phum Khmer dwellings. To build these old homes, it took four or six carpenters from Kampong Kdei and the province of Dom Dek and a total of one hundred laborers.

These six residences were designed to resemble classic Khmer stilted wooden abodes. Each home has a distinct personality thanks to its construction and color scheme, and they are all elegantly furnished with antique furniture and accents of local artisan work. Hand woven linens, silk and wood lamps, colorful traditional baskets, and other beautiful local products are used to give your space a distinct character.
In-room natural skin care products are provided and can be purchased from the hotel. But it is not just the physical design that sets us apart. Our staff and management are committed to delivering exceptional service with a genuine smile. From the moment you arrive, you will be welcomed like a member of our Khmer family, and we will go above and beyond to ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable.

“the perfect blend of hotel-like services and home-like environment”
